1 cup of water.
Optional: a few drops of lemon.
Do not add sugar if you have high blood sugar, diabetes, or are trying to cut down on sugary drinks.
Preparation
Boil a cup of water.
Put out the fire.
Add the dandelion leaves.
Cover and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
Strain the infusion.
Drink it lukewarm, slowly, and occasionally.
Avoid drinking several cups a day without professional guidance. Also avoid mixing it with other diuretic teas, laxatives, or “detox” supplements.
How to safely harvest the plant
If you’re going to use fresh dandelions, don’t pick them from just any garden, sidewalk, or roadside. They may be contaminated with pesticides, herbicides, vehicle exhaust, animal feces, or bacteria.
The safest option is to buy dried leaves from a reliable brand or use a plant grown in a clean, chemical-free environment and properly identified.
You should also avoid similar-looking plants if you don’t know how to identify them. If in doubt, don’t use it.
