My Husband Suggested Swapping Partners With Our Best Friends for a Week

Not one careless conversation.

Months.

Rebecca opened the envelope and removed several documents.

“I didn’t come here to tell anyone whom they should love,” she said. “I’m here because people have been making decisions based on information they don’t have.”

Alex took a step forward.

“What information?”

Rebecca looked at him.

“That depends on what Sean has told you.”

Sean stood up.

“This is ridiculous. She’s twisting things.”

“Then explain them,” I said quietly.

He turned toward me.

For the first time in eighteen years, he looked at me as though he couldn’t predict what I would do next.

Rebecca placed the documents on the table.

One was a printed email.

Another was a copy of an agreement.

The third was a photograph.

I didn’t touch them immediately.

I looked at Sean.

“Is there something you want to tell me before I read these?”

His mouth opened.

Then closed.

Nancy began to cry.
