The musicians initially performed cover songs at local bars while working to establish themselves. Over time, their combination of rock, jazz, pop, and brass instrumentation attracted a much larger audience.
Chicago went on to release dozens of albums and sell more than 100 million records worldwide, with hits including “If You Leave Me Now,” “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” and “Look Away.”
Parazaider remained an important part of that history for decades.
Recognition From the Rock Hall
In 2016, Chicago was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, giving Parazaider and his longtime bandmates another major milestone to celebrate.
He performed with the group during its induction ceremony, marking another memorable chapter in a career that had begun nearly half a century earlier.
He later retired from touring in 2017 as his health declined.
Parazaider publicly revealed his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2021, bringing greater attention to the health challenges he was facing away from the stage.
