I reached for the doorknob.

Medical equipment was arranged on a table.
When my daughter saw me, she covered her mouth with both hands.

“What is going on here?”
Michael approached me.
“Sarah, please sit down.”
“No! You’ve been lying to me for three months. I saw you at the hotel. I saw the photograph. I heard your secret conversations. And now I want to know why you’re here!”
The doctor looked at Michael in surprise.
