Over time, you may begin to prioritize their expectations over your own needs.
This can create resentment and exhaustion.
Setting boundaries does not require a dramatic confrontation. Sometimes it means saying, “I cannot help with that today,” or “I am willing to discuss this, but not while we are shouting at each other.”
A boundary is not a method of controlling another person’s behavior. It is a decision about what you will do to protect your own well-being.
You cannot guarantee that someone will respect your limits, but you can decide how you will respond when those limits are repeatedly ignored.

Repeated manipulation, denial, or blame can leave a person confused about their own perceptions.
For example, you may remember a conversation clearly, but the other person insists that it happened differently. You express concern about something hurtful, only to be told that you are imagining things or being unnecessarily sensitive.
