My Husband Suggested Swapping Partners With Our Best Friends for a Week

“Maybe you’re right. Maybe we’ve become too predictable.”

He sat beside me.

“That’s what I’ve been trying to say.”

“So let’s do it.”

For a moment, he didn’t move.

Then his entire face lit up.

“Seriously?”

“One week,” I said. “Seven days. We agree on the rules beforehand, and everyone knows exactly what they’re agreeing to.”

He grabbed my hand.

“I knew you’d understand.”

I smiled again.

Inside, I felt strangely calm.

I wasn’t agreeing because I wanted to exchange my husband.

I wasn’t agreeing because I believed the arrangement would strengthen our marriage.

I was agreeing because I had finally stopped trying to convince Sean to care about something he had already decided was unimportant.

Instead, I wanted to discover what was really happening.

If he genuinely believed this was an innocent experiment, he would have nothing to hide.

If Nancy believed it was harmless, she would have no reason to fear an honest conversation.
