My Husband Changed the Locks on My Condo and Threw Me Out—Then the Police Found Out What He Was Hiding Inside

Someone had to have provided documents suggesting I consented.

I looked toward Susan.

“Did the file contain my signature?”

She hesitated.

“I saw an ownership authorization in the assignment package, but I can’t authenticate it.”

My stomach dropped.

The female officer noticed.

“Ma’am, are you saying you didn’t authorize this?”

“That’s exactly what I’m saying.”

She nodded.

“All right. We’ll document what you’ve told us.”

Then she turned toward Adrian.

“Sir, we need everyone to remain calm while we sort out the immediate situation.”

Adrian rubbed his forehead.

“This has gotten completely out of control.”

I looked at him.

“No. You planned this while I was at work.”

His eyes flashed.

“You think everything is about you!”

I stared at the woman holding a valuation camera.

At the new lock.

At my belongings in the hallway.

And at his mother wearing my bathrobe.

For the first time, I realized Adrian wasn’t trying to win an argument.
