These reunions became an important part of his later relationship with his audience.
Gray reportedly expressed surprise at the strength of fans’ memories and their continued affection for the series. People who had watched him decades earlier were still eager to talk about the program and explain what it had meant to them.

His Connection to Shazam! Fury of the Gods
One of the most notable moments in Gray’s later career came in 2023, when he made a cameo appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
The film starred Zachary Levi as the modern incarnation of Shazam and connected the newer superhero franchise to the character’s earlier television history.
Gray’s appearance served as a nod to the original live-action series, giving longtime fans an opportunity to recognize an actor who had helped establish the character’s place in television culture. <Cite refs={[“turn316933search0″,”turn316933search2”]}/>
