His career demonstrates how a single musical idea can grow into something much larger than its creator could initially imagine.
Remembering Walter Parazaider
Walter Parazaider’s story began with a simple but ambitious idea: a rock band with horns.
That idea became Chicago.
Chicago became a major force in popular music.
And the music created by the band continues to be heard decades later.
Parazaider’s passing closes an important chapter in the band’s history, but his contribution remains embedded in the recordings, performances, and musical identity he helped create.
The musician may be gone, but the sound he helped build continues to play—and that may be the most lasting tribute of all.
