Early signs of pancreatic cancer: the silent symptoms that doctors recommend not ignoring.

Pancreatic cancer can contribute to weight loss because the disease may affect digestion, appetite, metabolism, or the body’s ability to properly absorb nutrients.

If weight loss continues without an obvious explanation, discussing it with a doctor is important.

2. Persistent Abdominal Pain

Abdominal discomfort can have countless causes, from indigestion and constipation to ulcers and gallbladder problems.

However, persistent or unusual pain in the upper abdomen deserves attention.

Some people with pancreatic cancer experience discomfort in the upper abdomen that may radiate toward the back. The pain can sometimes become more noticeable after eating or while lying down.

Pain alone does not mean someone has pancreatic cancer. Nevertheless, pain that persists, becomes increasingly severe, or is accompanied by other unexplained symptoms should be medically evaluated.

3. Back Pain

Because the pancreas is located close to structures and nerves in the abdomen and back, pancreatic conditions can sometimes cause back discomfort.
