The Disneyland Break

The brothers’ performances eventually brought them to Disneyland.

Their appearance on the television program “Disneyland After Dark” in 1962 introduced them to a much wider audience.

According to an account Alan gave years later, Walt Disney was present when the brothers performed and noticed a mistake during a hat routine involving Jay. Rather than asking them to remove the mistake from their performance, Disney reportedly encouraged them to keep it because he thought it added personality to the act.

The appearance helped open another important door.

The Osmond brothers soon attracted the attention of the team surrounding television entertainer Andy Williams.

They became regular performers on “The Andy Williams Show,” and their appearances on the program introduced them to millions of American television viewers.
