He is survived by Suzanne, their eight sons, 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, along with his siblings.

Family remained central to Alan throughout his life.

In his 2024 memoir, “One Way Ticket,” he emphasized the difference between show business and family, describing entertainment as the family’s livelihood while making clear that his family was his life.

That distinction is important when considering his legacy.

Alan’s story was never simply about fame.

It was about what happened when a family built an extraordinary career together—and what remained after the lights and cameras faded.

His Final Years

In the years following his retirement from regular performing, Alan made only occasional public appearances.

His health challenges became increasingly significant, and he eventually used a wheelchair.

Nevertheless, he remained connected to the Osmond family and its ongoing activities.

His last public appearance was in 2019, when he appeared alongside brothers Wayne, Merrill and Jay on the CBS daytime program “The Talk” to help celebrate sister Marie’s birthday.
