Alan Osmond, Eldest Member of the Osmonds, Dies at 76: Remembering the Life, Music and Legacy of a Family Leader
Alan Osmond, the eldest performing member of the legendary Osmond family musical group, has died at the age of 76.
Osmond died on April 20, 2026, at his home in Lehi, Utah. His wife, Suzanne, and their eight sons were by his side, according to the family. He had lived for decades with multiple sclerosis, a condition that eventually forced him to step away from regular performing, but it never prevented him from remaining deeply involved with his family, music and faith.
For generations of music fans, Alan Osmond represented much more than one member of a famous singing group. He was one of the people who helped establish the foundation on which the Osmond family built its extraordinary entertainment career.
He was a singer, songwriter, musician, producer, husband, father and grandfather. Perhaps most importantly, he was regarded by his younger brothers as a leader and protector who often worked behind the scenes to help the family succeed.
